It was a nice Saturday day in Belgrade and another home game for Red Star against Mladost from Lucana. There was a good number of delija in the north stand. Delije continued the action selling Serbian flags from which all the income went for Serbs who lived on Kosovo. The singing and supporting was great but the score of the game was unexpected. Delije singed even louder when the team was loosing, trying to motivate the team and make a comeback and win.
The idea with selling the Serbian flags was to make people more aware of the problems and to promote nationalism in the capitol and cities around the country. After the game the flags will be set on many balconies and terraces all over the city for people to see. The flags were also a part of the choreography.
At the entrance a sheet was passed out to everybody informing people about the plans for the next derby against Partizan next weekend. The sheet said that the Delije will meet at the main square and all together organized go the Partizan stand. It also said that the idea is that every Red Star supporter has a Serbian flag at the game, which will be used as choreography again. Delije will once again say what they think about Kosovo and Metohija, which is the heart of Serbia. The rivalry between the Delije and Partizan fans grobari will be put aside.
The beginning of the game against Mladost started with raising the Serbian flags a singing a couple songs about Serbia and Kosovo. That way Delije once more show support for the people living on Kosovo. Latter in the game Delije singed songs supporting the club and the players. The end of the first period the fans showed support to Russia.
The second half of the game started with a lighting up many flares and smokes. The song was much louder than in the first half. Couple songs were singed with the stand being divided when one part sings one part of the song and the other part singing the rest.
At the end Red Star only got a tie but the players were applaud showing them support for an important game against partizan.
The next game of Red Star is on Wednesday April 2 against Napredak.
P.S. I also want to apologize to people who read the English section for not posting a report for the past couple of games but I was really busy and didn’t have time to write the report.
